Ok, I pretty much knew what my GX1 Cool Gray would look like. Of course I bought it because it was a style and color that spoke to me and I figured for the price I couldn’t go too far wrong.
A Christmas gift from my wife, I had to wait… nothing prepared me for the overwhelming experience of opening the box.
First off, the packaging is top class. The box comes on a neat drawstring bag with the orange logo, the actual box is pretty much what you’d expect but the cool thing is that it’s totally color coordinated with the Cool Gray GX1. Total groove!
As for the watch itself… what you don’t get from any of the pictures you may have seen is the stunning detail. The 3D relief of the dial through the non-reflective glass generates a palette of intricate shadows and reflections that interplay in fabulous harmony. I’ve got one or two watches that have this going on to an extent, but not to the extent of my GX1 Cool Gray. On top of all that it’s super comfortable and very easy to read the time. Which is actually of secondary importance. What IS important is when I wear it I feel like a million bucks.

I have been eyeing these watches for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. Arrived within three days and I could not be happier with the watch. It looks really good and was not as big as I thought which is a good thing. By no means a knock, just wish that the strap was a little bit shorter because I’m in the next last hole when wearing. Already contemplating which one will be my next purchase.
