    The P-51 Mustang known as “Man O’ War” (tail number 44-72739) rolled out of the factory in February 1945, too late to taste the fire of World War II or the Korean War. Fate denied it glory in the skies, but its story didn’t end in silence. Instead, it was reborn in Hollywood. Snatched up by Universal Studios, the Mustang was reshaped, reimagined, and thrust into the spotlight, appearing in films like Battle Hymn. There it stood—not as a warrior, but as a wounded veteran crafted for the screen, a symbol of battles it never fought yet forever evokes.
